Ear Examination
Before we do anything, we will talk to you about what's led you to your appointment. We will have a discussion about your ear health, medical history and obtain your consent to proceed. From here, we will have a look inside your ears and formulate a treatment plan. We also have an ear probe camera we can link up to a handheld device, so you can see what we are seeing! This way, you can be fully informed and confident in our observations.
Evidenced Based, Safe Techniques
Microsuction and warm water irrigation are the key techniques we will use to remove earwax. Manual removal with forceps can also be used if the earwax is close to the entrance of the ear canal. Some appointments will require all three methods, some will require just one. This will depend on your medical history, ear anatomy or sometimes just how hard or sticky the earwax is!
Convenient and efficient service
We will come fully prepared with a ready to use kit bag containing sterile examination, microsuction and warm water irrigation equipment. From start to finish, the appointment should take no longer than 1 hour- including consultation, procedure and aftercare advice.
